Why is the max lift height max for 2005-20015 Tacoma coilovers different than 2016+ Tacoma coilovers?

The 05-15 Tacoma’s started off at a lower ride height from factory. After 2016 Toyota Tacoma’s were set higher from factory. Both generations of trucks have the same max adjustment available. Because newer models start higher from the factory they have less lift over stock available. The 05-15 Tacoma can achieve 3.5” of lift where 16+ can achieve 2.75” over stock.
