My 2005 - 2019 Toyota Tacoma is leaning to the driver side, what can be done to remedy this? Follow
Toyota’s have been designed and built with a bias to the driver side due to weight. Toyota Tacoma’s have both the battery and gas tank on the driver side. New vehicles have this lean right off the show room floor but is not noticed until a suspension system is introduced. ICON coilover kits can be adjusted to different heights per side to account for this lean. In most situations 2 or 3 additional turns of the adjuster collar are needed on the driver side. Be sure stay below the may thread showing recommendations for your vehicle when adjusting for this lean.
There are several aftermarket spacers or shims that are available the claim to mitigate the ‘Toyota Lean’ but those products are not recommended to be used in addition the ICON coilover kits. ICON systems are designed to maximized wheel travel without compromising the integrity of the suspension components, CV’s, tie rods, ball joints, etc. Adding a spacer or shim between the ICON coilovers and frame will over extend the suspension. The longer-term effects of this constant over extension will cause damage to your vehicle and/or coilovers. For more information contact ICON tech-support (951) 689-ICON.
